Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
The doctor received his MD degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1977 followed by graduate training in general surgery at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the George Washington University Hospital in our nation's capital.
In 1984 Dr. Hausmann was “Board Certified” by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He has since been named a “Fellow” by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is currently an attending surgeon at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank where he is a past chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
Before initiating his solo practice in Belford, Dr. Hausmann had been in group practice since 1982 with Orthopedic Associates of Red Bank and The Orthopedic, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.
Dr. Hausmann's specialization covers a broad spectrum of orthopedics including sports injuries, adult and pediatric orthopedic care, general trauma, and arthritis treatments plus spinal conditions including herniated disc.
His surgical expertise includes arthroscopic surgery, hip and knee replacements, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, rotator cuff repair, carpal tunnel release, fracture repair plus laser and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Dr Hausmann lectures regularly on many orthopedic subjects of general interest. He is also a recognized expert on the evaluation and treatment of workplace injuries and worker's compensation. Recently Dr. Hausmann traveled to the Philippine Islands as a member of the all volunteer Aloha Medical Mission to care for the rural indigent population on the island of Mindanao.
